Every film has a hero and a heroine. Some make good co-stars. But some go ahead and turn the perfect onscreen pair thanks to their chemistry and camaraderie. Let’s take a look at some of the best onscreen couples from the Malayalam film industry.

Prem Nazir – Sheela

The eternal jodi of Malayalam cinema, Prem Nazir and Sheela, holds a record in Guinness World Records for pairing together in over 130 films. Some of their famous films include Football Champion (1973), Thapaswini (1971), Avalalpam Vaikippoyi (1971),Kaanatha Veshangal (1968) and Vivaham Swargathil (1970). They are still considered the all-time best onscreen couple of Malayalam film industry who gave many hits together.


Sathyan – Sharada

Sharada was considered as the perfect leading lady for Sathyan. The actors have always complimented each with their mature acting skills. They have been paired in movies likeSthree (1970), Manaswini (1968), Yakshi (1968), Adimakal (1969), Kuttavali (1970) and many more. Malayalam film industry still considers them one of the best and most mature onscreen couples ever.


Madhu – Srividya

Madhu and Srividya are another iconic pair of Malayalam cinema. They have shared screen in about 60 movies. The actress, apparently, had always remarked that Madhu is her best friend from the movie industry. Jayan – Seema

Jayan and Seema are one of the most sizzling onscreen pairs of Mollywood. In real life, Seema has, allegedly, considered Jayan as a brotherly figure and had always remarked that he was the person who always supported her, both, professionally and personally. They have been paired in movies like Moorkhan (1980), Angaadi (1980), Karimpana(1980), Lisa (1978), Angakkuri (1979) and many more.

Mohanlal – Shobana

Mohanlal is the Malayalam superstar. And Shobana is the dancing queen of Mollywood. Successful individually, together they even make a bigger successful combo. The duo shared fantastic onscreen chemistry with their extraordinary acting skills in many films. Some of these films include T. P. Mammootty – Suhasini

Suhasini is considered as the best actress to be paired with Mammootty onscreen. Jayaram – Urvashi

Apparently, some rumours also claim that Shalini is married to Kunchacko Boban. Dileep – Kavya Madhavan

The alleged real life couple Dileep and Kavya Madhavan has acted in over 25 movies and are still considered as one of the best onscreen couple of Malayalam cinema with their fabulous chemistry. Nivin Pauly – Nazriya Nazim

After their first association in the music album Yuvvh for the song Nenjodu Cheruthu, people instantly fell for their adorable chemistry. Nivin and Nazriya became an overnight sensation. They have shared screen in movies like Neram (2013), Ohm Shanthi Oshaana(2014) and Bangalore Days (2014). Though they acted as cousins in Bangalore Days, their camaraderie was still appreciated.
